Celebrate Recovery

crWHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF CELEBRATE RECOVERY?

Celebrate Recovery’s focus is to fellowship, share, and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives. It is a safe, confidential place to share and break free from life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups through God’s grace and power. Healing comes through turning our lives over to Christ and by applying Biblical principles such as the Christ-centered Twelve Steps and the Eight Recovery Principles. We open the door to healing by sharing our experiences and by accepting God’s grace and wisdom in resolving our struggles. By relying on God and Biblical principles we begin to grow and mature spiritually. We become free from our dysfunctional, compulsive, addictive behaviors and habits. This freedom brings peace, joy, serenity, and more importantly, a stronger relationship with God and others. As we make the journey through Celebrate Recovery, we discover that God is personal, loving, forgiving, and our source of strength and hope. He is our higher power! In Celebrate Recovery we truly celebrate changed lives!

WHO BENEFITS FROM CELEBRATE RECOVERY?

Celebrate Recovery is for anyone with hurts, habits, or hang-ups. We all have life struggles, and so Celebrate Recovery is for all who want to break free from bondage and who want to find healing and direction for their lives. Celebrate Recovery is for all who want to know and enjoy life as God intended it to be. It is for those who are currently in a life struggle or those who have been in one and want to encourage others. Celebrate Recovery is a place where you can feel God’s healing touch and you can give back by serving.

WHAT IS THE FOUNDATION OF CELEBRATE RECOVERY?

Celebrate Recovery is based on God’s word, the Bible. The Eight Recovery Principles were shared by Jesus when He taught the Sermon on the Mount. He was really teaching “Eight Ways to Be Happy.” As we look and study the Eight Recovery Principles, we begin to understand and to see more clearly God’s road to recovery for wholeness and spiritual maturity.

Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change,

the courage to change the things I can,

and the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time,

enjoying one moment at a time;

accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;

taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is;

not as I would have it;

trusting that You will make all things right

if I surrender to your will;

so that I may be reasonably happy in this life

and supremely happy with You forever in the next.

AMEN
