I have been the Worship and Outreach Minister at PACOC since 2004. My wife, Rachel, grew up at Armstrong Avenue Church of Christ (now Park Avenue) and we were married here 30 years ago. Through a very influential minister and his wife during my teenage years, a love for the lost was instilled at a very young age and a deep passion for leading worship in song. I am grateful for the way this couple invested in me and now I love investing in the lives of others. We have twin sons, Matthew and Joshua, who are currently sophomores at Abilene Christian University.
God sent me to Park Avenue as a summer intern in 2012 and 2013. I graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bible degree the following year and was elated to receive an offer to become the next youth minister here. After a year of full time ministry, my wife, Sarah, finished her degree and we were married in May of 2015. I am deeply passionate about the teenagers and what’s going on in their world. I believe firmly that youth ministry is a team effort between teens, their families, and ministers. Thanks for allowing me to partner with you and your family.
I have been a full time secretary at Park Avenue since 2010. Originally from Scotland, my son, Jordan, and I moved to Texas 10 years ago. My responsibilities include being the welcoming voice to callers and visitors, recording membership and visitor attendance along with contributions, assisting Todd with the Denison Ministerial Alliance prescription assistance program, and assisting in worship planning and presentations.
I'm a native of Westmoreland County in western Pennsylvania who arrived in Tarrant County, Texas on October 31, 1975. I have an Associate Business Management degree from Robert Morris University (Pittsburgh) and retired from AT&T in December 2009. I love to get on my bicycle and ride, go camping, work on my rental properties, and work on my 1970 Olds Cutlass Supreme I've had since October 1972. I enjoy serving others through our church, Celebrate Recovery, Meals on Wheels, and by driving a TAPS bus. I want to help others anyway I can. Don't hesitate to get in touch with me if I can be of help. Together we can gain the daily strength we need to be "more like Jesus."
When I was a teen, someone I admired allowed me to assist in teaching a preschool Bible class. Since that time, there have been very few Sundays when I was not involved in ministry in some fashion. God has allowed me, my husband, and my sons to be His instruments through ministries in Texas, Oklahoma, Brazil, and Africa. I stand in awe at His faithfulness and ask Him to use me all the days of my life! My passion is for the church to view her youngest members as an integral part of the larger church family, and to partner with parents to raise their children to intimately know and love God and His son, Jesus.
I am the financial secretary at Park Avenue which involves the budget, payroll, and paying the bills. My other responsibilities include worship planning and helping in the involvement ministry by communicating to ministers, elders, deacons, and ministry leaders. Ray and I have been married for 41 years and we have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. Juggling the requests of our five ministers is also one of my joys!
I've been blessed to be the preaching minister at Park Avenue since 1994. We're not a perfect church (how could a church be perfect with me as a their preacher!), but we love one another and seek to serve God through whatever means he provides for us. My wife, Henriann and I have four children and two grandsons. I'm a native of Massachusetts and love my Boston sports teams - that'll be obvious as soon as you walk into my office!
If I can be of any service to you in your spiritual journey, please feel free to call on me!
