TODD'S TAKE

Good morning and welcome to our worship. To all our guests, we are glad to have you with us. Members and guests, please complete a digital communication card that can be accessed on the church app or by scanning the QR code below.

We have been blessed this summer with two youth ministry interns, Trevor Schwiethale and Hannah Alexander. Tyler has worked them hard as our youth has had a great summer serving, camping, and growing together in the Lord. As a parent of four kids who grew up here at PACOC let me remind you of how blessed we are to have a great youth ministry here, and let me thank you all who financially support the church so we can offer this to our children and parents.

Today we will see Trevor in a different role as this morning I'm honored to preach alongside him. We will be looking at the book of Daniel and how he and his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah  - also known as Shadrach,  Meshach and Abednego - maintained a fireproof faith in spite of living in a pagan culture. The four, along with other Jews who were exiled from Judea to Babylon in the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BC, faced extreme pressure to conform to the ideology and religion of the Babylonians. Under extreme conditions they maintained their faith in the true and only God and left an indelible mark on their world. Our challenge to you today is to aspire to the same kind of faith they exhibited.

Our mission team to Casa de la Esperanza in Mexico reports a great week serving the children of Casa. This morning we will show a brief video of some of the highlights of the trip. With this trip and the recent visit of Hammer and Dela from Togo, let’s renew our prayers for all the kingdom work being done around the world. A few PACOC members will be travelling to Monterrey, Mexico next month to encourage the work there.

Christian Theater Workshop kicks off tomorrow morning. We have over 130 kids registered and   raring to jump into the story of Moses culminating with our production of Promised Land next weekend.  Mark your calendars for performances on Saturday, July 23 at noon and 4 pm and Sunday, July 24 at 4 pm. Come out and support our kids as they share with us this amazing story of deliverance.

Have you heard? The Family Life Center, aka The Ark, is paid off! Thanks to your faithful giving we were able to retire that debt in 12 years—several years ahead of the scheduled mortgage. We are planning a church-wide celebration for Sunday,  October 2, so mark  your calendars to join us as we give all the praise and glory to God.
