TODD’S TAKE
Welcome to Worship.

Good morning and welcome! We're so glad to be together as a church family today. If you're visiting with us, thank you for being here—we'd love to get to know you.

This morning we return to the apostle John's letter as he encourages the early church. Our text today is 1 John 4:7-21, and you'll notice something remarkable right away: the word "love" appears 27 times in just 15 verses. To put that in perspective, only John's Gospel uses the word more frequently—56 times, the highest count in the New Testament. Altogether, this short letter includes "love" 45 times. John clearly has something important to say to us. Let's explore his message together this morning.

We have many exciting things happening at PACOC right now. Check out the messenger to see what's going on and find ways to get involved. If you have questions about any of our ministries or activities, don't hesitate to reach out to the church office—we're here to help.

Also, George Hatfield, one of our elders, will be sharing an update from our recent leadership retreat. He'll present the vision we've developed for Park Avenue's next decade. This is an exciting time for our church family.

Financial Update
As we come to the close of 2025, we wanted to take a moment to share where we stand financially as a church family.

Through October, our weekly general contributions have averaged $20,574—just slightly below our budgeted goal of $21,444 per week. While our weekly giving has been a bit lower than projected, God has blessed us through other avenues. The church generates income from several other sources, but the most noteworthy are our Christian Theater Workshop, retreat fees, and Grace Offering. These and other income streams have generated $248,094 through October, already surpassing our annual budget projection of $223,800 by more than $24,000. Combined with slightly lower expenses than anticipated, we're looking at a budget surplus of $50,218 for the year.

What does this mean? It means that your faithful generosity and wise stewardship have allowed us to fully carry out every ministry God has called us to this year. We've been able to serve our community, support our missions, care for one another, and advance the Kingdom—all because you have given faithfully and sacrificially.

As we look toward 2026 and beyond, we do so with hearts full of gratitude and confidence in God's continued provision through this congregation. Thank you for your partnership in the gospel and for making our shared ministry possible.

If you'd like more details about our church finances, you can access our complete annual budget at pacoc.net/budget or speak with any of our elders.
