NEWS & NOTES

Thank You’s

We are so thankful for our church family. The love that has been shown through acts of kindness as Matthew recovers from two heart surgeries has been overwhelming: the calls and texts, the words of encouragement, help with our home, the cards, the hospital and home visits, the meals, gifts, and especially the prayers.  From Matthew: “I’ve been a part of this church family for 62 years. Words cannot express the love that has been shown for Carrie and me during this time.  We love you.” Matt & Carrie Hogan

Thank you for making my 90th birthday gathering so special by attending. I love you all and thank you for the special cards. Your kindness and grace is amazing.  In Him, Enola Newland

TODD’S TAKE

Good morning and welcome! We're so glad to be together as a church family today. If you're our guest this morning, thank you for being here—we'd love to get to know you.

This Sunday during our sermon time, we continue our series The Greatness of God.

We've already explored God's eternal nature, His creative power, and His goodness poured out over creation. This week we examine another stunning display of His greatness: His clear communication through Scripture.

Think about the pain of silence in relationships — the cold shoulder, being ghosted. No counselor encourages the silent treatment because healthy relationships require communication. Here's something remarkable: God refuses to give us the silent treatment.

He didn't have to explain Himself. He's infinite, eternal, all-powerful. But our God speaks — and He speaks because He loves us.

66 books, forty authors, 1,500 years — yet one unified message of redemption. Different genres reaching different hearts. Scripture isn't just beautiful literature; it's the living voice of God, still speaking and still transforming lives.

Whether you're new to Park Avenue or have been visiting for a while, I'd love to invite you to PACOC 101—a month-long class designed to help you connect with our church family.

Over five Sunday mornings, we'll explore Park Avenue's history and how we got to where we are today. You'll get to know our church leadership, hear about our vision and values for the future, and meet other newcomers. There will be plenty of time to ask questions in a relaxed, informal setting.

We'll meet March 1-29 from 9:00-9:45 AM in Room C on the west side of the main building. Coffee and donuts will be available, and if you need childcare, just let us know when you register.

This class is for anyone wanting to get better connected to the body of Christ—whether you've been at Park Avenue for years or just a few weeks. And don't worry if you can't make all five Sundays. Come to whatever works for your schedule.

RSVP by emailing todd@parkavenuechurch.com, calling the church office at 903-465-1288, or visiting pacoc.net/101.

Hope to see you there!
