TODD’S TAKE
Welcome to our worship service. We are glad to have you here, whether you’re a longtime member or a first-time visitor. If you have any questions about Park Avenue or need to know more about the Lord, please seek us out.
Today we're kicking off a six-week series through one of the most personal passages Paul ever wrote — Philippians 3:12–14. Paul had planted churches across the Roman world, survived shipwrecks and prison, and given his whole life to the gospel. If anyone had earned the right to say "I've made it," it was him.
Instead, he says the opposite: "Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal."
That's where we're starting.
Over the next six weeks, we'll be:
• Memorizing Philippians 3:12–14, one phrase at a time
• Following along in the devotional guide
• Journaling through what it actually looks like to know Christ more — not in theory, but this week, in your actual life
Paul's honesty isn't an excuse to coast. It's permission to stop pretending you've arrived — and a challenge to make sure you're still chasing something worth chasing.
If you haven't picked up a devotional guide or journal yet, do that today in the atrium before you find your seat — and get ready to memorize the first phrase together this morning. Also, there are a few dates left on our 40 Days of Prayer calendar - consider taking one of those days to devote to pray and fast for the church and your own walk with the Lord.
