Special Wedding Anniversary
Ray & Marsha Jones will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on August 31. Ray & Marsha have been homebound for sometime and we would like to shower them with cards to help them celebrate!  If you would like to send a card, their address is 7 Ambassador Court, Denison, TX 75020

Join us this Wednesday at 6:30 PM in the auditorium for a time of praise and prayer.

Lady Jacket Breakfasts
Park Avenue will be hosting the Lady Jacket Breakfast starting on August 27th. This is a great chance to encourage and reach out to the female athletes at DHS. Volunteer on the app to help cook and clean up.

Youth Ministry

  • Aug. 15: Park Avenue Youth will meet at the McAlister’s House (675 Yellowjacket Rd.) from 5:30-7:30PM. 
  • Aug. 18: Park Avenue Youth will meet from 5:45-6:30 in the youth suite. Bring your own dinner and come hang out before the all-church Prayer and Praise. 
  • Aug. 22: Sunday Connect for all Park Avenue Youth begins for the Fall! 5:30-7:30PM in the Gym .

Ladies Day
Ladies, make plans to join us for a day of joy-filled fellowship, teaching, worship, and laughter on Saturday, September 11.  Registration is $10 per person, and you can register in the church office or online at pacoc.net/joy. Invite a friend, family member, neighbor, or co-worker to share this joyful and refreshing experience with us. We will be joined by speaker Becky Brooks, and Christian comedian and ventriloquist Lauren Lucille Vasser. Coffee will be provided from Revolution Coffee, and lunch will also be provided.

TODD'S TAKE

Good morning and welcome to our special time of worship.

It’s back to school for our kids and educators and we continue to lift them up in prayer for a successful school year. Don’t you love seeing all the posts of children on their first day of class? I particularly enjoy seeing the older kids with a side-by-side picture of them when they were younger and seeing how much they have grown.

Growth is expected of our children. Their first day of high school picture compared to their first day of first grade picture shows just how much they have grown.  Growth over time is normal.

The same is true for us spiritually. Over time we grow in knowledge and grace. As we mature as believers we see the Spirit working in us and through us in new ways.

If you were able to compare spiritual pictures of yourself today with last year or five years ago, in what ways have you grown? How different do you look then compared to now?

Growth is expected.

Wednesday Update
Last Wednesday we had a great time of worship. Thanks to Basil and our Praise Team for leading us into the presence of God. We will have another evening of song this Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 in the worship center. The following Wednesday we will wrap up summer with our annual  Minister’s Cookoff. Then on Wednesday, September 1, we will resume PAWS at 5:15 and offer several opportunities for spiritual connection and community from 6:30-7:30.
 
Make Wednesday a part of your spiritual fitness regimen.
 
Remember to keep Sunday, September 19 on you calendars as we call Denison back to church.

  • Invite those who have been away from church.
  • Invite those who have never been to church.
  • Join us in the community celebration at Forest Park from 4:30-6:00 with bounce houses, music, and food trucks and then stay for our community worship at Munson Stadium from 6:00-7:00. Jay Thomas, a a Dove Award nominated singer and songwriter, will lead our worship and our new football coach and athletic director Brent Whitson will share with us his passion for the local church.
