Each week of our 40 days, we’ll memorize one phrase of Philippians 3:12–14. By the final week, we’ll be able to say the whole passage together as a church family.
This is a season of prayer and fasting for our whole church — not a call for any one person to fast all 40 days. Choose one day to fast and pray, or more if you’re willing and able. Every day, this booklet offers a short devotional, a prayer, and this week’s phrase to memorize together.
Philippians 3:12 gives us an easy time to remember every afternoon. Try setting a daily phone alarm for 3:12 PM as your cue to pause, pray, and go through that day’s devotional. Can’t do 3:12 exactly because of work or your schedule? That’s okay — just pick a regular time that works for you, and keep it steady for these 40 days.

These 40 days lead into a 24-Hour Prayer Vigil at church, October 2 (6:00 PM) through October 3 (6:00 PM). No sign-up — just show up for an hour, any hour, and pray.
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
