TODD'S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our worship. It is good to have everyone with us in person today and we are glad to have those of you who are joining us online.

If you are a guest with us this morning or a recent member we invite you to stay after services for our Let’s Get Acquainted luncheon immediately after services in the family life center. We’d love to get to know you better and give you an opportunity to get to know us and the church here at Park Avenue. We’ve been blessed by several new members lately!

This Thursday we had a great Lady Jacket Breakfast for our spring girl’s athletics at Denison High School. A group of 6 athletes is assigned to a mentor and, in addition to enjoying breakfast, they have an opportunity to develop a mentoring relationship with a community leader. This is a great ministry to our students as we provide for conversations of truth and wisdom from life experience and the word of God. Thanks to our cooks and clean-up crew who start these days before the crack of dawn. We have two more breakfasts scheduled for March.

Thanks to our youth for last week’s Sweetheart Banquet! Reports are that it was a huge success. Way to serve youth!

This morning in the sermon time I will be talking about the ongoing work of God in creation commonly referred to as “Providence.”  We will consider questions about if and how God is working in the world in subtle and often unnoticed ways. Ultimately this is mysterious, but Scripture seems to clearly teach that God has not just created the world and left it to its own devices, but that He is actively involved in carrying out his purposes in the daily affairs of mankind. May we find comfort and peace knowing that God is at work in our lives, even when he seems to be silent.

Glad you’re here this morning!
