Baptism
Congratulations to Aislynn Thompson who was baptized into Christ last Sunday by Tyler Cope.  We rejoice with Aislynn and her family.
 
Re-Engage
Registration is open for Re-Engage at pacoc.net/reengage. This is a safe place for married couples to revitalize their marriage, to reconnect, and also invest in their relationship.  Re-Engage will start on Monday nights from 6-8 PM beginning on August 4-November 17. If you have any questions, contact Basil, Rachel or Tyler.
 
Pot Luck Luncheon
We will honor our new Youth Minister & his wife, Sam & Maddie (Madelyn) Cannon with a potluck luncheon on Sunday, August 10th in the Ark immediately after worship. At that time we would like to shower them with either gift cards OR baby gifts. They are registered at babylist.com. The church will provide the meat. We would ask that you bring a side dish. Please note the assignments listed below by the letter of your last name.

Back to School Prayer Activities
 
“Pray in the Spirit at all times. Pray with all kinds of prayers, and ask for everything you need”.
Ephesians 6:18
 
We invite everyone, adults and children, to participate in our Back to School Prayer Activity. In the next few weeks, we will have tables covered in butcher paper placed in various locations inside the building. Educators & children will trace their handprint on the butcher paper, and the rest of us will trace our handprint over theirs—symbolizing our promise to cover them in prayer this school year. 
 
Community Back to School Prayer
We will also have a community back to school prayer on Sunday, August 10th. We will meet at Heritage Park at 7:00 PM and disperse to different campuses. Join us for this special time of community prayer.
 
PACOC Back to School Prayer
Also on August 10th we will have a congregational prayer for all our teachers, administrators and staff in our morning worship as we embark on another school year.
 
Park Avenue Family Ministry
Park Avenue Family Ministry is heading into a New Season. We are excited about what is to come! Families be on the lookout for a survey in the next week. Also, we would appreciate your prayers for this New Season.

Join us this Wednesday at 5:15 PM for our PAWS Lite. We are having Sandwich Bar, Salad & Dessert. The meal will be prepared by Shelly Calvert & Susie Hilton and their team.
Serving starts at 5:15 PM and stops promptly at 6:15 PM.

TODD’S TAKE
Welcome to worship! What a joy it is to gather together as a church family. To our guests joining us today, we'd love the opportunity to connect with you and share more about Park Avenue!
 
Today in our sermon time I will be addressing another Parishioner's Pick. Today's submission is from Ecclesiastes, a sometimes confusing but always provocative book. In it the author is desperately seeking meaning in life but cannot find it. Every pursuit—wealth, pleasure, power—all come up short at providing meaning, leaving him to conclude that all is meaningless. His shortcoming is that he seeks meaning "under the sun"—a phrase he uses repeatedly to express a life lived without recognition of God. This reveals the underlying message of the book—meaning can only be found in knowing there is a God above it all and committing our lives to him. Meaning is only found in Him. My prayer is that we will be reminded of that today.
 
It’s an exciting season of transition at Park Avenue. The Cannon family has joined our community as Sam steps into youth ministry, while Tyler embraces his new role in family ministry. These changes reflect God's ongoing work as we prepare for what lies ahead. Our church continues growing, mirroring the broader growth across Texoma—a trend expected to accelerate throughout this decade. We remain committed to discerning God's vision, seeking to position ourselves faithfully for the greater influence and service He's calling us toward, both locally and globally. Our leadership team continues in prayer over this vision, and we invite every member to join us in seeking the Lord's guidance. Throughout our history in Texoma, we've witnessed God's faithful provision and direction time after time. We trust completely that He will continue leading us as we submit to His will.
 
Let’s prepare our hearts for worship. As we lift our voices in song, bow in prayer, share communion, and receive God's Word, may our spirits be open to all He desires to speak to us today.
