Thank You’s

Thank you for your prayers, messages, and visits during Gary’s recent hospital visit. He is doing much better after coming off his medication. Gary & Sandy Whitlock
 
I want to thank everyone for the prayers, cards, texts, and phone calls in the last month.  The recovery of his infection and healing of his foot went better than anyone excepted.  He has made a full recovery.  So many prayers have been answered and we are so grateful for our church family!  Love, Rodney & Ashley Tharp

Winter Clothing Drive
Our winter clothing drive will start in late November. We are not gathering items yet but if you happen to be cleaning out your closets this fall please keep this in mind!
 
Thanksgiving Food Drive
Our Thanksgiving Food Drive will run through September 28th. This will assist the Barnabas Food Pantry as they prepare to hand out Thanksgiving boxes over the Thanksgiving holiday. Tabs are available in the hallways.  Items needed are: Cake Mix, Cake Icing, Canned Corn, Canned Green Beans, Canned Peas, Cranberry Sauce, Mashed Potatoes (small boxes), Stuffing Mix or Cornmeal.
 
Family Ministry
Mark your calendar for our Fortify Family Retreat on December 13-14 at Texoma Christian Camp.  Be on the lookout for more events to come!

Mary Martha Class—The Mary Martha Class meets on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 AM in the Atrium.  The theme this year is Cultivating Inward Beauty Through the Word. The class will be lead by Judith Nevil. 
 
Men’s Bible Study—Join in for a weekly Bible study lead by Anthony Bryant on Thursdays from 10-11 AM up here at the building in Room A.
 
NT Bible Reading DMC—New Testament DMC has officially started on Wednesday nights but you can still join.  See Tyler for more information.

Later this week, the elders and ministers will be on our planning retreat as we seek God's vision for the future of PACOC. Please be in prayer for us—that God's direction for our church will be clear and that the eyes of our hearts may be open and receptive to His leading.
 
Too Good Not To Be True (A Study of 1. John)
A frustrated fisherman. An impossible catch. A life transformed forever. John's encounter with Jesus on the Sea of Galilee reveals that hope isn't just wishful thinking—it's a real person who specializes in taking broken lives and making them beautiful again.
 
Today I begin a new sermon series from 1 John called "Too Good Not to Be True." For decades, John told his story of walking with Jesus. When people began questioning whether Jesus was real or just too good to be true, an aging John picked up his pen with tears in his eyes and wrote: "That which we have heard, seen, and touched—this we proclaim." Today we’ll discover why John's eyewitness testimony matters for your life today.
